Walking on history
The refuge organizes together with the Gruppo Storico di Cuneo and Associazione Passi di Libertà theme excursion related on the passage of the Jews and their story during their stay in the valleys of cuneo during the Second World War.
Proposal for CAI groups and/or Associations
As you approach to our valley with your organized vehicle
First day: from Entracque S.giacomo to Refuge Soria with afternoon or evening with slides or readings related on the theme.
Second day: after breakfast begins the excursion through the routes of the exodusWith tales during the journey, stopping on Colle di Finestra.With the possibility of continuing to the Refuge Madonna di Fenetre situated in France.With the possibility to continue for San Martin Visubie the Museum of Memory.
On your way back you can stop in Borgo San Dalmazzo to visit the site where the Jews were transported by rail to ashuiz
The program of the day
The crossing can develop the theme of both historical and naturalistic. The memory will accompany the two days, including readings along the route that can be executed by the participants or, alternatively, by the tour guides. The tracks are taken from the reflection: Il Prete Giusto ("The right priest”) written by Nuto Revelli, “Nella notte straniera ("During the strange Night”) by Cavaglion, “Stella Errante”("Wandering Star") by Clezio and I miei anni di guerra("My years of war ")of Sanin.
Many of the places that we cross are described in the readings that we extracted from the works mentioned. Also there could be a possibility of a history lesson in the Refuge by historians and experts of the Historical Institute of the resistance and the contemporary of Cuneo, or alternatively the screening of the movie "Duccio Galimberti: il tempo dei testimoni (the time of witnesses)." a film, by the said institute, tells the story of Tancredi "Duccio" Galimberti and contains testimony of people who lived at the time and give details the crossing of the Jews.
With regards to the natures aspect, will be discuss by the nature guides:
the mountain is like an open book and non-competitive walk allows you to glance through the pages and understand that our daily life is closely linked with that of the "Highlands".
Last but not least, an analog will be done by the group regarding the history, memory and the natures equilibrium and try a process of reflection on tolerance, the sense of limits, solidarity and a mutual way to save it.
Price of proposal
Groups of 5 to 10 price is not available -1 night in refuge with half board treatment and
1 pack lunch the day after1 guide and a movie at the refuge ;
Groups of 10 to 20 price not available - 1 night in refuge with half board treatment and 1 pack lunch
the day after1 guide and 1 person of historical group;
Groups from 20 to 40 price is not available - 1 night in refuge with half board treatment and 1 pack
lunch the day after + 2 guides and 1 person of historical group
